Encounteract: An invented Etymology

There are a few different ways to think about the word encounteract, but my favourite is to think of it as a kind of incantation that has the power to reveal and then ward off the increasingly overwhelming, scarily accelerated and widely contradictory problems at large in the world today. In other words, it is a serious foray into wishful thinking, but also a hopeful foray into serious thinking.

If I could point a wand and yell

..and magically fix bad things, I would. I think many people would (although we certainly wouldn't all agree on what is bad and what needs fixing. In fact the wand would almost certainly cause more problems than it solves.)

So instead of the wand we have a word.

It is not a fix all, this word. In fact it is unlikely to fix anything, but it offers us a way to start being more vocal about things we care about and to try and connect with people who care about the same kind of stuff. Encounteract, encounteract!

Encounter... then act! En... counteract! Enact counteraction!
